The Art of Making Art program is a vibrant and exhilarating experience that transports you into a world of creative possibilities. It is a thrilling journey where we will explore the concept of functional art and let your imagination take flight. AMA students will be guided by a mixed media artist who will nurture your artistic talents. From painting to crafting unique sculptural masterpieces, students will explore a myriad of techniques and mediums to bring life and character to your portfolio.

 

Engaging with fellow art enthusiasts, AMA students will share laughter and inspiration, encouraging each other to push boundaries and unlock hidden artistic potential. With every brushstroke or clay molding, students will feel a sense of accomplishment and joy as they witness their artistic visions come to life. Get ready to embark on a captivating adventure filled with color, texture, and self-expression that will infuse your portfolio with extraordinary charm. Pre-teens and Teens (11 - 18 years) can use this workshop to develop their skills for personal use or prepare for high school or university while building a collection of artworks. The artists will be making four unique projects that will be spread out over six weeks.​

Project 1: Artist Psyche 

You will choose a favorite artist and create a mixed media collage, delving into the depths of their chosen artist's mind to capture and reinterpret their unique creative process.

Project 2: Reimagining Mona Lisa  

You will recreate the Mona Lisa by placing her in modern-day scenarios or reimagining her in completely different art styles, blending classic elegance with contemporary or imaginative twists.

Project 3: Fusion Canvas

You will paint a canvas by fusing two completely opposite art styles, aiming to create a cohesive and harmonious masterpiece that blends contrasting elements seamlessly.

You will create a mixed media project using the iconic motifs of Henri Matisse, incorporating his bold shapes and vibrant colors into unique, textured compositions.
